Brief

Design packaging for Birdhouse Tea Co., a real company in Sheffield.

Approach

The brand runs on homeliness and they were actively trying to be more environmentally responsible, so the packaging had to carry both without spelling either one out.

So I left the material alone. Recyclable cardboard with the raw paper showing, barely any applied colour, and a die-cut window so the tea sells itself. I drew the bird-and-cup mark as one continuous line, and the pattern behind it is a folded triangle that works as both a birdhouse roof and a teabag.

Outcome

Packaging design, die-lines and printed mock-ups for Lemonilla, their lemon and vanilla blend.
